Up until recently, I didn’t carry any iron lower than a 6. Last year I added a 5.
mostly use hybrids rather than long irons. I have 4 and, depending on the course, swap ‘em in an out with the 5 & 6 iron. Right now I am jonesin.

I play a course that is a links style course. You need to play longer irons to run the ball to spots. Hitting a rescue up high could catch trees or the wind and end up in the fescue/rough. I'm jonesin as well.

I know that 64th and North area. In the late 70s it was safer than today. It's right on the edge. And yes, I'm old I guess, but we refer to neighborhoods based on the nearby churches.
