Break Ground, Not Promises
http://anncoulter.com ^ | Jan 23 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 01/24/2019 5:42:13 AM PST by Cassius Flavia Agrippa

Several months into the Trump administration, I started running a daily "Border Wall Construction Update" on Twitter, announcing how many miles of the wall had been completed that day and how many miles since the inauguration. It was always the same numbers: 0 and 0, respectively.

I was immediately attacked by people in the Trump base. You're being unfair, he hasn't had enough time, there's a legislative process, he's doing the best he can.

As days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months and months turned to years, and not 1 inch of the wall was built, the "3-D chess" crowd dwindled.

The 2018 Omnibus included $1.6 billion to repair and upgrade existing fencing and barriers along the border. That which is replacing the old fencing is vastly superior and higher than anything previously seen.

Correct. And you can see drone footage of it on You Tube. It’s very impressive.

20 years?

you are being optimistic..

Roughly 20 months..

The way the democrat machine pulled off the cheating/harvesting unchecked..

it’s over in 2020.

things have to change asap.

fiddling around with the democrats is getting nowhere. 3D chess or not, we don’t have time to setup the democrats and wait for them to fail.

as it is, if he calls a national emergency you can bet it’s headed to court before the shovels hit the ground.

Does she not know that various parts of the wall that were previously funded have been built and are being built right now?

OK People, Ann may not agree with YOU 100% of the time but she is right more often than she is wrong, and it could be pointed out POLITELY to her when she is wrong without calling her an ‘attention seeking whore’

We should be thanking God we have some one as brilliant as her on our side.

I don’t think it is bad to hold our side accountable, and she is correct- the wall is (so far) a broken promise.

However, no one could have expected the vile and insidious opposition Trump has gotten from day 1 INCLUDING from our own side.

For example - these jerk RINO’s refused to even send the same obamacare repeal bill tha they sent to obama over 50 times. That should have happened on his first day.

Trump tried, but he’s Caesar on the Ides of March

When you're the President, you don't "try". You "do".

You do what the office you hold is constitutionally mandated to do. That is Coulter's point. It's not happening. And she is correct.

The Democrats for the past two years have been blatantly stripping the office of the presidency of its constitutional powers. Trump has been allowing it to happen.

That is the intent of all of this.

One example out of many is Trump's travel ban from Muslim countries. Immediately deferring to some cockamamie liberal judge who injuncted a presidential order was a precedent-setting devolution of enumerated powers and a major giveaway of presidential authority by Trump himself.

What you do as a real estate developer in New York is NOT what you do as the President of the United States. Where the hell is the Department of Justice and the Attorney General who understand executive precedent and can explain it to him? Nowhere.

Trump--by virtue of his kowtowing to pipsqueak judges, pipsqueak president Pelosi, pipsqueak Mueller, pipsqeak Schumer, pipsqueak McConnell, pipsqueak Ivanka, pipsqueak Jared, and pipsqueak Ryan--without any historical guidance whatsoever--has taken a wrecking ball to the office he occupies.

He's been acting like a hamstrung private real estate developer ever since inauguration day. Enough is enough.

The office of the presidency is suffering horribly and may never recover from this weakening and castrating onslaught upon the powers and authority constitutionally vested in it.

And I can't be the only one sick of all of the Trump loyalists on FR who continually insult and demean anyone who, two years after having voted for him, sees with their own eyes what is going on with him and says something about it.

The idol worship and infatuation are so thick and palpable here that there is total blindness to the permanent damage being done to the office of the presidency itself by this president, this political neophyte.

And it is none other than the massive former Princess Diana-fawning throng of voters here who long and pine so deeply for a regency and a monarchy in this country, a regency and monarchy our founders made EVERY possible effort to avoid.

You all really want a king or queen. Yes you do. Your blind idolatry and fealty to Trump and his lifestyle, yet blindness to the negative effects his actions are having upon the office he occupies, gives all of you away.

None of you royalists would have survived 1776.

Encourage our president to keep up the fight

He is winning

Changing strategy is dumb right now, the ‘rats would take it as a win

Agree. So, now building the wall is breaking a promise?

On DACA, Trump ALWAYS said it had to be resolved by Congress. He never said he wouldn’t sign it.

You’re delusional. You think trump is winning? Get out of your bubble.

If trump were winning his poll numbers would be sky high. Even considering the poll phoniness they would be higher.

Yeah, the rats aren’t winning. They won’t even go to the table on the govt budget, they won’t give one penny for any fence or wall, they won’t even let the president do the State of the Union speech.

Pelosi and Democrats 3, trump 0.

Open your eyes. If trump were winning gop would not have lost the mid terms with the best economy in decades, lowest unemployment in history and the threat of pelosi, schiff, Maxine waters. IT APPARENTLY DIDNT MATTER to the voters. They voted democrat anyway.

Ann Coulter has always been right every time she warns trump about the need to at least keep his base. TRUMP cannot win re-election with only his supporters. Period.

Really? I hear about the recent polls at least three times a week. For your info, the vast majority of the people claim trump is responsible for the shutdown, not the democrats who refuse to discuss the budget.

Trumps overall approval numbers are at their lowest level currently, as one might expect.

You might broaden your news sources if you want to hear what others are saying. FR is the echo chamber of supporters. Only good news is reported and any dissent is met with irrational criticism.
