Like father, like son: Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late James Gandolfini, will play a young Tony Soprano in The Many Saints of Newark, better known as The Sopranos prequel.
Written by The Sopranos creator David Chase and Sopranos writer Lawrence Konner, the film is set amid the riots of 1960s Newark, New Jersey, which broke out as a result of tensions flaring between the citys black and Italian residents. The cast includes Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, Billy Magnussen, and Corey Stoll. James Gandolfini played the adult role of Tony Soprano in the HBO series from 1999 to 2007. The three-time Emmy winner died in 2013 at the age of 51.

Gefn, if you’re still out there, read this.
Hope it’s not too anti-Italian.
It’s the smile.
Is that the son that saw his dad die? I’m not sure how many sons James had, but I know what it’s like, although it wasn’t my dad. I saw a guy die of a heart attack mere inches from me. I use to work for Fedex back in the 1980s, well back then it was called Federal express and this guy Joe who we use to call Barney Rubble because he looked just like him, I was lifting boxes right next to him when I saw he froze and tears were coming out his eyes and I asked him what was wrong, and he collapsed and that was that. Only 35. Next time I saw him was at the wake and it looked like a wax replica of him. He chained smoked and had diabetes and he had two kids and a wife. It taught me a hard lesson: Just because you are alive does not mean you will be the next minute. When it comes to your health, do - not - f*ck - with that sh*t
his only son, yes.
Back on my b-day about 2004, I went up to the Pharm’s video department and decided on the first 5 Sopranos episodes. Also a case of beer. Instant binge-watching marathon! Good stuff, beer good, too...
Ping!
Incidentally, I was interested to hear that one of the people who was looking to maybe buy Carmella's spec house when she finally got it built, according to the show, was Ivanka Trump - now would a big time mega hit TV show like The Sopranos bother to give a bit of a call out to the daughter of some guy who was really a known racist, misogynist, you name it deplorable monger if he really were a known racist, misogynist, you name it deplorable monger? - I think not.....
This is very cool - the kid looks a lot like his father. I’m looking forward to this movie.
Always with the race riots of the 60s. Ugh.
Gotta dig my “Bada Bing Bada Boom” shirt out of the closet....
Long live Tony!

That is known as the subject “American History” in some schools.

My friend died 4 months ago. Heart attack. Nothing in his system.
Number came up...
I love the original series.
It figures that race relations would be involve in this new one.
Yeah, this country elected a race baiter for president and he set us back a hundred years.
Great, Kumbya! Everything is crapola these days BaDABING!
Wow, interesting! Wonder if she and Jared will succeed in getting that house?
About the time "The Sopranos" was being made, Trump and his family were media darlings - you've probably seen it, but here's a link to an eight minute YouTube of cameos of Trump in various movies and TV shows, including "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and "Sex and the City" - Michael Douglas, Robert Wagner, Will Smith, Michael J. Fox, Hugh Grant - it's very difficult for me to believe that entertainers of this stature would have agreed to work with Trump had his reputation been that he really was the racist sexist greedy crazy his enemies claim him to be now - after becoming a Republican that is - not surprising the Sopranos wanted in on the action, if only in bringing his daughter in on the sale of a house.....
I hadn't seen it; but I've snagged it from your post now. Thanks! (This should indicate how backed up my ping page has become...)
