I won’t go to the unhinged length of threats, but I really don’t see the point in hunting elephant. Is the meat good for consumption?

Every bit of the meat is used by the locals

My uncle spent his life making guns for such hunts, so I can vouch for this

Yes, the meat is good... humans developed a taste for pachyderms since they started hunting mammoth and mastodon.

They give the meat to the locals who desperately need it. A lot of these elephants are rogues that need to be eliminated because they destroy crops and kill people.

The Elephants are considered pests by the natives. Like giant rats, they trample crops and homes and have no fear of people.

The other day I saw a group of protesters at the city zoo protesting having elephants in captivity. A guy ( who seemed like the leader) tried to hand me a brochure, It blew his mind when I said " Be careful what you wish for, raising them in captivity may be the only hope to save the species, or at least give them a peaceful happy life. "

He just stood there like a deer in the headlights, and said, "you know, you got a good point there"

Game reserves in Africa preserve five times the space of government funded reserves/parks and the hunting license revenue pays to protect species that the Chinese traditional medicine market would otherwise hunt to extinction.

“I won’t go to the unhinged length of threats, but I really don’t see the point in hunting elephant.”

How long do you reckon it takes an elephant to completely destroy a village’s entire crop?

“Is the meat good for consumption?”

Yes.
