These days it requires being able to read twitter feeds of celebrities.
Its about money. Its more profitable to have someone come on the air and jabber away in between commercials then to have reporters out in the field looking for real news.
“Credible” is a great word. It can either mean that you are trustworthy and telling the truth or that you appear to believe what you are saying. It should have been last year’s “Word of the Year.”
You will, however, have to schedule a Two Minute Hate, right after your morning soykaffee, and the choco ration will be cut to 50 grams per month...
1st requirement is a deep hatred of President Trump.
The ability to disguise the words “if true”.
Most of these numbnuts are just auditioning for being booked again. (As in nail filing while opposition speaks.)
That’s it. You have to have a ready opinion on every subject at the drop of a hat without requiring knowledge of any actual information.
First you earn your BS, News Analyst Studies...
Well the First Part of analyst is ANAL!.................
A vivid imagination.
They are mouthpieces for some party or political tendency.
A Democratic "consultant" or a Republican "consultant" usually doesn't become a talking head because of any special knowledge or analytical talent but because of how well (or in some cases how poorly) they defend their side and attack the other.
Many people you see on television from time to time are actually lobbyists or activists called in to present their organization's case when it becomes newsworthy.
There is another kind of analyst - somebody who has a long career in the military or the police or some other branch of government or business - who gives expert technical analysis of what is going on.
Finally there is the gray area of lawyers and academics who have some expertise, but who are also very much representing a point of view.
Corrected header: “What does it take to become a news ANAL?”
Think of a man and take away reason and accountability.

Well, I coulda been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good, I don’t have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry
All you need is :XXX was XXX during XXXs administration from xxx to xxx. Thats it, doesn’t matter who what when really.
...WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BECOME A NEWS ANALYST?...”
A lobotomy or a bottle in front of me...maybe both!
Order doesn’t probably matter!
What it takes is:
1. Good looks, ability to hold audience’s attention. Possibly this is salesmanship. Salesmanship is always in order. I knew a person that considered everything he did to be “a sales call”.
2. Willing to work hard and at odd hours and on short notice to get stories and prepare scripts and video for presenting the stories.
3. Choose and present stores that management thinks are good for the station or network. Do things that management likes.
4. For most presenters be willing to work for less pay than they could get with other jobs. It is likely that they could take their public speaking, script writing, videography and editing experience somewhere else and make more money.
The good news for presenters is that when it’s perceived that they personally draw a large audience, their pay goes up and they have more freedom of expression. Maybe not the freedom of expression.
What it takes is the ability to do nothing creative, productive, or beneficial....
You have to lie and makeup stuff at a moments notice, and always be aware that your facts do not matter and anyone presenting a real fact must be belittled and have their life ruined. Then there is the required daily time in the mirror practicing your “Trump is an evil racist and I am afraid for the survival of mankind on earth!” face.
Democrat with access to ‘talking points’ put out by democrat war rooms.
