A crucial non-interference, non-helmet-to-helmet call cost the Saints a spot in the Super Bowl and provided a crushing loss to end the season for a second straight year as the Rams won with a field goal in overtime 26-23.
After the game, Saints head coach Sean Payton said the NFL head of officials admitted they had missed the call, saying that it was not only pass interference, but a helmet to helmet hit. If the call had been made, the Saints could have killed the clock and tried a chip shot field goal...

Brees pick ended their season.
This is like Red Sox fans blaming Buckner or Cubs fans claiming a random fan cost them a shot at the World Series.

Cubs fans didn’t blame that guy. It was a small handful of idiots that exist in every team’s fan base.

A bit late, but as one who was an Oakland Raider fan growing up, I have a two-fold answer to Saints fans:
1. The Immaculate Reception - I still become ill after seeing video of that play, some 50 years later.
2. The Tuck Rule.
There's only one team in this world for whom I root for: the Gonzaga Bulldogs (my alma mater). I'm pretty much done with pro sports, though they help to pass some time when college hoops isn't in season.

LOL, and they changed the rule after that, too. Bill King's audio on that play is unforgettable.
Bill King - best radio guy the Raiders ever had, or will ever have.

Wonder if NY didn’t tell the officials NOT to throw the flag. They could have easily done the opposite, and this thing would not have happened.
Saints might have still blown it. They did last year.
But the game wouldn’t have been in question.

I'm definitely NOT a fan of the Raiders
