McConnell’s Kentucky poll numbers are probably a motivator, as much as anything, or anyone. His numbers are down around his ankles at home and he recently said he is going to try to run for re-election.
It will take more acts than this looks-good moment, I’m afraid, before he can be trusted.
I don’t trust him, but he’s doing the right thing even if motivated by self-interest, at least it is the right thing.
