They’re pinched. One the one hand they are determined not to fund a barrier on the southern border as their very power and money depends on illegals and what they bring in, and illegals voting. On the other, Trump can permanently lay off a whole bunch of evil drones who hamper the MAGA agenda if the shutdown continues for 5 more days.
Trump holds all the winning cards. They realized too late theirs is a losing hand.
