Just loaded up 200 rounds of .30 carbine for my plainfield and my son’s original Inland. They call the caliber equivalent to a .357 magnum. But the 110 grain grain slug doesn’t quite have the stopping power. At Chosin Reservoir the light bullets didn’t make it through the thick quilted winter clothing of the Chinese infantry. It got a bad rap after that.

My dad carried one during WW2 throughout the Solomons. There, small, lightly dressed Japanese were taken out much easier.

Personally I love the gun.

I know someone who carried one in the South Pacific also. He said it was a good jungle gun.

110 grain lead JHP is a vicious round in the M1.
