Meet the 5 Deadliest Pistol Caliber Rifles To Ever Fire a Shot
Kel-Tecs offering differs in having a specific talent: folding down for compact storage. By rotating the barrel upwards and back, the Sub-2000 essentially folds over onto itself for an overall length of just sixteen inches and a height of seven inches. Once in the compact configuration, the carbine can be secured that way with a built-in lock and key system.
The explosion of interest in the modern sporting rifle, as well as the natural pace of industry innovation, has driven the firearms industry to field semi-automatic rifles in an increasingly broad number of configurations. One of the latest innovations is a new generation of pistol-caliber rifles, which combines smaller pistol calibers with a rifle or carbine-length weapon.
Pistol caliber carbines (PCCs) are not new: some of the more famous from recent history include the Ruger .44 Magnum carbine and 9mm rifles. The adaptability of the AR-15 platformas well as those offered by manufacturers including Beretta, Kel-Tec and CZhas made it possible to adapt them to calibers including 9mm Luger, 10mm Auto, .40 Smith & Wesson and even .45 ACP. These are five of the best PCCs out there...

Th pistols at the Rowland conversion site are not designed for that kind of stress.
And they will soon show it.
Remember a .22 almost killed Reagan.
I just picked up a Ruger PC9 take-down. Shoots Ruger or Glock mags by using the adapter that comes with it. It’s also threaded with a thread protector already on it for suppressor use.
Yeah, I agree.. And what the Russian PPSH-41 in 7.62x25mm..? With velocities up around 1600fts., it's very powerful...
But, I guess the conversation is about pistol cartridges used in submachine guns, not the other way around... :)
I have several friends that own .41 Mag revolvers. Both love them except for ammo availability and price. Not a problem if you reload.
My 45 Ruger Blackhawk has been my sidearm when hunting for 35 years now. I've thought of picking up a 45LC lever action, but I already had a 45-70, so never did.
I would say what they were originally developed for.
If they were developed for a hand gun or developed for a rifle.
My 14 inch 45-70 contender barrel does not make the 45-70 a pistol cartridge.
My 357 mag in my marling carbine does not make the 357 mag a rifle cartridge.
Putting rifle cartridges into bolt action hand rifles do not make them pistol cartridges.
Yes things a little grayer now but duel caliber pistol/rifle/carbines cartridges have been around for along time.
Another very nice little carbine and my second choice.
Yes, I’m a Beretta man. I really like their pistols and shotguns.
Not as “cost effective” as Ruger, but prettier.
“50 BMG revolver? Why not?”
Not possible.
Single shot, MAYBE.
You'd have a have fairly good excuse not to be quick on the draw with this gun.
Built by Poland's Ryszard Tobys, this super-sized replica of a Remington 1859 holds the world record for being the world's largest revolver.
Weighing 45 kg (99.2 lb), it has a length of 1.26 m (4 ft 1.5 in) and a height of 40 cm (15.75 in).
Fully working, the gun holds six bullets, each weighing 136 g (4.7 oz), with a calibre of 28 mm (1.1 in).
First test-fired in July 2002, Ryszard shows just what the record-breaking weapon is capable of in the recently filmed clip below.
.
They’re pefect for in-town deployment, where a long range rifle could kill the inocent in greater numbers than the terrorists.

A .357 carbine has very respectable range!
110 grain lead JHP is a vicious round in the M1.
Most of what I load is FMJ. But I have around 40 rounds loaded with Hornady 110 grain soft points I take up deer hunting to sling my carbine over my shoulder while doing things around our camp. Rare but occasionally a whitetail will appear out of nowhere in camp and I wouldnt feel undergunned to take a close range shot with it.
Micro Tavor,,,
I’ll look it up.
I thought this might be a Relevant
article which would have listed
Rugers latest PC 9.
The article passed over the
.357 Mag offerings which ,imho,
Is a very Versatile caliber.
A WheelGun and a Lever Action
is a Great Combo in a Pistol Caliber.
That PC9, is it a good Shooter?
Mine shoots a 158gr Remington JSP with a max load of h110 at 1850fps into 2.5 inches at 150 yards. I have killed deer with it out to a 100.
The US .30 M-1 is a Tweener: supersonic, but not high-velocity. Size and recoil both favor it as a handgun cartridge.
If memory serves, Ruger Single-Six and Thompson-Center Contender were both chambered for it.
I always wonder about such switchings though. Should not powder burn rates be suited to barrel lengths?
It seems to me that a handgun firing a .30 M-1 would have excessive powder waste and muzzle blast. Conversely, it seems to me that a Thompson M-1928 or M-1 would benefit from a slower-burning powder in .45 ACP.
