If this “gang” of brats was such a problem, I would have taken my wife and kid and went back into the mall and out a different exit. Problem solved. I am not on this planet to discipline other people’s brats, that is just going get me in jail.

If I or mine were assaulted, I would have killed them. Shocking? Maybe. But I don’t give a damn how old they are if they are threatening my family.
I probably would have an alternative exit too but if not, whatever. I’m not on this planet to discipline other peoples kids either but I’m also not here to look the other way or find an alternative exit.
It’s really not that hard to control your kids. And I’m allowed to be pissed when you don’t.
If a feral or rowdy group of kids are being criminal, I can walk away but I don’t have to. Sorry, I’m not going to rearrange my life to suit some teens.
