Bravo to your father. I’ve always be a history buff. Especially our own military. I’ve heard about chipped beef on toast (’’s**t on a shingle’’) from so many vets, particularly WW2 vets. What was so terrible about it?

I think it was not that it was terrible. Some people actually choose to eat it. I think it was that it showed up time after time after time on the menu.
