One Year Later, ‘Net Neutrality’ Zealots Proved Dead Wrong

FTA:
A year later, none of the horror stories came true. In fact, average internet speeds climbed by roughly a third last year. The number of homes with access to fiber internet jumped 23% last year, according to the Fiber Broadband Association.

Oh, and “net neutrality” was a nonissue in the Democratic midterm campaigns. One party official said that Dems didn’t campaign on it because: “It’s not something that people bring up in their top list of concerns.”

In a statement last week, Pai said that, “the FCC’s light-touch approach is working.”

Meanwhile, at this year’s CES, the industry will highlight the promise of 5G internet, which allows speeds 100 times faster than the current wireless networks. D-Link plans to showcase a 5G router that will let homeowners cut the cord and still get speeds 40 times faster.

Promise of 5G

Not only will speed climb exponentially, but 5G will inject still more competition in the ISP market. Even “net neutrality” advocates should be willing to admit that there’s no need for a massive federal regulatory system in a highly competitive market, since no internet provider would dare throttle or block sites for fear of losing customers.

What we did learn over the past year is that the real threats to a “free and open” internet aren’t the ISPs, but the self-appointed internet censors at Google, Facebook and Twitter.

The only question that remains is whether those “net neutrality” zealots will apologize to the public for repeatedly crying wolf.

CNN knows Mueller has nothing on The Donald

CNN worked with Obama to set up Donald John Trump and saddle him with an unwarranted investigation. Obama used an intelligence briefing to slip some memos into the stack of papers given to the president-elect.

Those memos were part of a Russian Dossier — opposition research that Obama and Hillary paid millions for.

On January 10, 2017, CNN reported, “Intel chiefs presented Trump with claims of Russian efforts to compromise him,” under a quadruple byline that included Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein, anchor Jake Tapper, and reporters Evan Perez and Jim Sciutto.

We later learned that CNN staffers met with Obama’s team to figure out a way to make this dossier news. That was how they did it. CNN got the “exclusive/only on CNN” because they cut a deal with Obama.

There was nothing in the dossier.

It was as empty as the empty suit Obama.

Nevertheless, CNN reported, “The allegations were presented in a two-page synopsis that was appended to a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election. The allegations came, in part, from memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative, whose past work US intelligence officials consider credible. The FBI is investigating the credibility and accuracy of these allegations, which are based primarily on information from Russian sources, but has not confirmed many essential details in the memos about Mr. Trump.”

Huh? Allegations “which are based primarily on information from Russian sources.”

The real collusion was between Russian spies and Democrats.

But CNN and Obama got their special counsel.

As the investigation drags on, CNN knows Bungling Bob Mueller has nothing on President Trump.

CNN reported, “What happens if Mueller comes up empty?”

The short answer: They will still blame the victim of Obama’s wiretapping of Trump Tower and Mueller’s corrupt, strong-armed investigation.

The column ended, “If there was no collusion and no obstruction, the irony is that Trump could have avoided all of this — the damage to the rule of law and to his presidency — by cooperating fully and letting Mueller’s probe run its course. If future presidents take any lesson away from Trump, let us hope it is this one.”

Never mind that President Trump fully cooperated with this witch hunt. That’s the spin. Sure, you were not guilty but you tweeted bad things — so you deserve it.

Someday, history may tell the truth about this pile of manure investigation.

Till then, you are stuck with me speaking out.
