For the record, I haven’t seen those movies either - at least not any more of them than it took to change the channel.
I can take music & I can take dance (sometimes), but not as the plot of a movie. I have been forced to watch many musicals, but the concept baffles me. One minute you have the Sharks & Jets stabbing each other & the next they are dancing & singing, or Gene Kelly is dancing around town while the rest of the towns people pretend not to notice there is a guy singing & dancing. It’s asking me to suspend reality, just a bit too far.
My sister plays the piano, and she peaked out at a book of show tunes. So that and Christmas year ‘roud was all we heard growing up. If I hear “Do a Deer” 1 more time, I will choke myself.
There is a reason Led Zeppelin didn’t play show tunes.

Okay put that way it does him bizarre for someone to just break out in song. I’ve never actually seen anybody do that in person so it does defy reality.
That’s because you’re a CPA. Things Need to be orderly and logical and makes sense. As an engineer on the same way. However I will make one exception and that is Fiddler on the Roof. I find that one intriguing.
I understand completely. BTW, Led Zeppelin is the best band ever!
