To stop this from getting to the Senate floor the Dems would have to vote against taking up one of Pelosi's 'open the government' bills just passed.
I don't think the media can convince voters that that's a good thing.

Little procedural point: I think the motion to proceed would have to be on one of the House-passed appropriations bills with the expectation McConnell would amend it.

Just thinking outside of box. Putting other alternatives out there. Neither are the type to bluff over something so serious. So if they are NOT bluffing the alternatives ARE; whatever it takes for them to be successful.
