Joe diGenova told Hannity the only reason Mueller issued the statement refuting the BuzzFeed story tonight is because he knows Bill Barr, once confirmed, would've fired him if he hadn't issued that statement.
I had that thought too but think the “canary” theory is better. OTOH both could be true.
If canary they have found the leaker(S) If there are leakers and Mueller had not stopped it Barr would have grounds to fire also.

If members of Mueller’s committee realize the end is in sight. They may have tried one last time to get rid of him. Leaking to Buzzfied has worked before.
