My dental hygienist, when I lived in California, was from Afghanistan, but he had lived several years in Germany before moving here. Seemed to be a nice guy. He told me how much better life was here compared to Germany. He said everything was so small, apartments and even refrigerators, and so expensive in Germany.
And taxes were so high.
That was before the invasion.
Oh yeah I had forgotten about the tiny refrigerators. My grandparents had a refrigerator the size you would find in a Motel 6. They pretty much had to go out shopping everyday for the food they were going to prepare.
