They endured so much. Some of the stories are rough. There was much evil in those days also, but like you said, the family units were strong.
They were the greatest generation because of what they endured. They spared us baby boomers from adversity and our generation has let them and America down.

I bet it was hard to hear. Have you written any of it down? It doesn’t really need to be in the book for that, but just saved for your children and your children’s children. I wished I had written down more things that my grandmother had told me about her family coming over here.

They probably spared Baby Boomers too much. And now the Millennials are getting even more spoiled. A little bit of adversity is a good thing. I worry about if we have economic collapse now, the majority of the population will just be helpless. They will wait for those FEMA trucks. And then they will start stealing from the rest of us.
