I was prescribed serious pain meds automatically for years after my last surgery. I would only take one occasionally if I was in severe pain, because I worked and couldn’t function on medication. I used exercises and natural things, and occasionally alcohol (but not so much I couldn’t go to work the next day) to deal with the pain. I finally quit filling the prescriptions as I ended throwing most of them away. I do get a flexerol script, but a 30 day supply lasts me for a year.
I think if people have work and family that they care for, especially family, they would avoid ruining their lives with addiction.
I must admit I have one addiction, nicotine. I quit a few times but life wasn’t good, especially for those around me. If I can’t smoke I have to chew nicotine gum. And I don’t function well if I don’t have my coffee.

LOL, I hear you there. Sounds like me when I try to diet.
On our road trip we will have to take lots of smoke breaks then. I think I have a physical allergy to it because if I’m around smoke it really irritates my eyes and I eventually start getting headaches and feeling light headed. So we’ll have to work around it, sorry I couldn’t handle the smoke in my car.

One would hope. I quit drinking when I had my son because i wanted him to have a good stable family life.
But so many don’t quit and the children really suffer. That’s why I have no patience with them because there is a solution and if people refuse to take it then I just get mad, and very sad for their families. It’s heartbreaking what the children go through.
I remember when I was a kid we were told that one of the great things about this country was that we had safe, clean drinking water.

My dental hygienist, when I lived in California, was from Afghanistan, but he had lived several years in Germany before moving here. Seemed to be a nice guy. He told me how much better life was here compared to Germany. He said everything was so small, apartments and even refrigerators, and so expensive in Germany.
And taxes were so high.
That was before the invasion.
