An interesting little factoid about the Cottonwood:

Right after WW2, when we were still at least a little friendly with the Soviet Union, they had to rebuild Moscow. During the war they had cut down almost all of the trees for fuel.

So, as a gesture of good will, we sent them Cottonwoods because the grew fast. The Soviets planted them all over Moscow.

It turns out that about 40% of Muscovites are allergic to the 'summer snow'.

Ah-HA!!! Russian collusion!

Robert Mueller and the SDNY are so going to be all over the Eastern Cottonwood. Look for Mitt Romney to issue a statement on how cottonwoods are unfit to wear the mantle of deciduous trees.
