You do realize by mentioning “giant beaver” you opened up an entire new avenue for more of this topic, humor, or scientific conjecture? I had my doubts but this truly might be the best 2018 discussion this year. LMAO

The article doesn’t mention one aspect of the giant beaver’s demise: predation by man.

If the Italians loved to eat beaver, surely the Paleo-Indians did also. Who wouldn’t love to catch a giant beaver? I’m sure it would go a long ways and feed the entire tribe for a week or more, depending on the weather and preservation technologies of the time.

Giant beaver pemmican and jerky would have been very sustaining.
