Notre Dame, the college team I love to hate. They get to play those awesome military academy teams every year just to make themselves look good. Hope they fail.
ND plays the Military Academies out of respect and to honor them. It started decades ago when ND was always a dominate powerhouse. ND has kept their commitments throughout the years despite critics like you saying it weakens their schedule.

Yeah much harder to play teams like “Furman” and “Austin Peays Governors”.
The games against Navy is long and storied. During WWII Navy “loaned” players to ND, because all were away fighting. So there’s a special relationship you’re completely unaware of.
They are awesome. Intelligent young men and women who take real courses and make a commitment to serve the country after graduation.
