So here’s my take: suppose we did devise a consistent and functional Stupid Scale ... would not those with the greatest Stupidity reinterpret the scale to reflect ideological soundness instead? Claiming that a higher number demands agreement?
I say that because to be genuinely profoundly Stupid it takes maleducation and some level of intellect, even prosperity, to first be realized. People who are just dumb cannot easily progress beyond my hypothetical Class 6 Stupid. The profoundly Stupid must be unable to realize why they are Stupid, whereas the merely Stupid may easily realize it. Which means I should arguably place the civilization of Idiocracy below that of the woke subculture on the Stupidity Scale as they just no longer have the ability to do more than just threaten their own existence.
