You need to be around people to develop immunity, though. There’s a story (true, I’m pretty sure) about a reclusive nun who stayed solitary for many years, and as soon as she came of seclusion, she died. As usual, can’t remember the details, name, etc.

Yes, that's true but it can also kill you. Teachers know about this - first year teachers are out sick a lot. By the time their second year rolls around, they've built up their immunity.

I figure a few trips through Walmart is about the same in terms of catching the icks. Make sure to wash your hands as soon as you get home and again after putting the shopping away.
