Those are impressive to watch! Thank you for the nice array of videos. I guess they don’t need to worry about the tracks being iced over or anything oh, they are just forging ahead. Look scary and beautiful at the same time.

Each one of those modern locomotives weighs about 150 to 200 tons or more!

Average snow and ice accumulations are not a problem.

In the really deep snow the railroads use snow blowers instead of plows.

Actual jet plane engines are also used for snow and ice clearance on rr tracks.
