Sorry, I went off on a personal tangent. I did have a point but I forgot it along the way. I do have everything spelled out on their website it’s what I was trying to get to. But you do have to interpret it yourself. Like they don’t say that those that pay in the most will never get their money back, or those paying in the least get triple or quadruple what they paid in. It is extremely socialized. It’s not actually said anywhere but it is in the calculations loud and clear. Unfortunately, public education being what it is, the Millennials will have no clue.
Correct me, if need be, call me naive, if need be...people may not fit through the “wall” constructed with vertical beams and spaces in-between, but bags, tons of drugs can be slipped through. What am I not seeing, missing?

Well, from that video the spaces between the bars are pretty thin - it looks like about 4 inches. If you have seen videos of the smugglers, each of them are carrying huge backpacks as they make their treks.
Yes, I am sure when (if) the wall is finalized, we will see places where there are ladders or scaffolding to get over, places where the slats are cut & yes, the smugglers will probably find a way to slip packages through. But, the packages will be much smaller & take time. Then there will need to be a crew on the "delivery" side & a crew on the "receiving"side. All of this takes time & more effort.
As it has been said, even by Trump - the wall will not be 100% effective, but will slow down a lot. Of course it would be best to have a double wall, with a road in between patrolled by CBP. I think that was the original "dream" scenario.
Drones, cameras & sensors are meaningless to stop the flow of people, because these will only detect the illegals once they enter the country. BUT, drones, cameras & sensors will help (I would imagine) to detect tampering of the wall or illegals who are spending time at the wall slipping drugs through to their counterparts on the US side.
Nothing is 100%, but merely a deterrent. The more of a deterrent, the better.
Yes that is true and I thought it was the first time that, that had happened. It was at the time we started getting SS. But after reading that website I learned it was going on during Reagan's time but at a smaller percentage. Under Clinton they increased the percentage.

Something I heard today. It sounded like the metal slatted fencing would ONLY BE where it is continually patrolled by the boarder patrol. They wanted the type of fencing so they could see what was going on, on the other side. Areas that ARE NOT patrolled would more then likely be solid cement.
Yeah, I saw that in the link you posted and I was surprised. I thought it started under Clinton. Pretty disappointing :-( Republican seem to always be compromising.
