McConnell is an establishment politician for sure. He has let us down many a time. However, give him a little room here. He warned Harry Reid against what he did back when criminal Reid ran the senate over the nuclear option being stopped regarding approval of judges. He has legitimate fears of the future where the democRATS use the simple majority to spend us into oblivion with no possibility to correct course.
I do not like McConnell, but in the new congress they will have to consider this bill without turncoat Flake and with 2 additional senators on the GOP side. He may actually have a good reason this time.

The new congress has a democratic house, so that chamber will not pass the $5 billion for the wall.
