UK places 3,500 British soldiers on riot alert in case of No Deal Brexit
British Defense Minister Gavin Williamson said Tuesday that 3,500 military personnel have been placed on alert in the event of turmoil in government departments resulting from parliament throwing out PM Theresa May’s proposal and voting to quit the European Union without a deal. Riots may possibly break out in some parts of the UK due to shortages of food or medicines and the breakdown of banks and financial systems. May told a cabinet meeting that she is preparing for her blueprint to be dismissed by parliament resulting in the UK quitting the European Union without a deal. Some observers say that this is a ploy for bringing around the dissenting vote.
