Interesting week coming up. I think it’s also very interesting that most of DC, officials and their staff, are not able to leave town for the holidays due to the looming “shut down the government” issue.
Timing is everything.
I am related by marriage to a Congressman. The Congressman, his brothers, sisters and parents, have a trip planned overseas for the holidays. The Congressman has had to cancel and will not join the trip because of the government shutdown and the need to be available in DC. It is part of the job, but it is a shame, because the trip has been planned for years and the parents are pretty old, and it will probably never happen again.
