YOU GOT ‘EM! 4 seconds left and Rivers throws a 2 point conversion to win!

The last score I saw before I feel asleep was 14-0. I should have known better! I watched and admired Phillip Rivers for four years as he played for NC State so I know that he NEVER gives up and always believes that he can win. I don't know if the Freepers remember that the New York Giants chose him in the first round of the 2004 draft. The Giants promptly traded him to the Chargers for the number one draft pick of that year, Eli Manning. I remember thinking at the time that the Chargers got the better end of that deal! You can coach a lot of things, but the heart and will to win that Philip has always shown are the result of his upbringing. The son of a coach and a devout Roman Catholic, he has been married to his high school sweetheart since they were both students at NCSU and they are expecting their ninth child. By the way, the QB he replaced in San Diego when he became the starter-Drew Brees.

Have always been a big Rivers fan too. I remember seeing him in a bowl game of his senior year where he absolutely destroyed the opposing team. Congrats to him and his wife and his seemingly-ever-growing family.

Cause Manning said he would refuse to play for the Chargers. My Manning hate lives on. The Chargers had Drew Brees, but drafted Rivers anyway, then got rid of Brees to the Aints.

Brees is still going strong, so either one woulda been fine with me. I did then and still do, love me some Drew Brees.

Dude, imma Chargers fan from the 80's. (early 80's, at that)!

I was SOOO pissed the Bolts took that namby pamby SHE-Li with the #1 overall... until the Giants took Rivers. Then, I knew the fix was in :-)
Couldn't be happier. Eli is a punk, and Rivers is literally the cleanest, squeakiest QB in the NFL! Think Roger Staubach...
