When preparing the service to decorate our church I read many meditation.
One emphasized the preparation is threefold
Preparation for the birth of Christ
The return of Christ
And one we often forget prepare each day to receive Christ in our heart. It’s much like the Dickens quote from Christmas Carol. “ I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year!”
My new appliances (and baseboard heat) are the results of a power surge/ice Storm. —
Appliances were just 5-6 years old. Have still not found an electrician to work on baseboard. Have purchased a new thermostat

hm, ask your electrician about installing a whole house surge protector.
It is a special circuit breaker that is installed in an unused slot in your electrical panel. It trips when there is a power surge, and shuts the power to the whole house.
It protects appliances from the power surges. Easily set once tripped. Only trips during bad surges; modulates the lesser ones so the appliances are not damaged.
Brownouts, lowered voltages(especially in summer) and power surges ruin the sensitive electronic control boards in major appliances, rendering them useless. Had 2 dishwasher control boards go before I put in the surge protector; none after.
Most of these appliance control boards are made in China. The components are not that resistant to power surges.
An experienced electrician should install it to make sure it is done right.
