When asked by the warden if he had any last words, Miller whose last meal consisted of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits and coffee said: "Beats being on death row."
He was convicted of killing Lee Standifer, 23, in 1981 in Knoxville. Standifer was a mentally handicapped woman who had been on a date with Miller the night she was repeatedly beaten, stabbed and dragged into a wooded area.
Miller, in a handwritten note last month, requested to die via electric chair, rather than by lethal injection. Inmates in Tennessee whose crimes were committed before 1999 can choose electrocution over lethal injection.
He became the second person to request electrocution over lethal injection in Tennessee, behind Edmund Zagorski, who was put to death on Nov. 1.

I have two questions
Why did ir take 36 years to execute this pos?
What would your last meal be on Death Row? I would go for lot more than fried chicken and mashed po-taters.
He had no right to live but It shouldn’t cost so much when you throw in the appeals process. I say life imprisonment without the POSSIBILITY of parole-unlike the Willie Horton furloughs. Buy a few black votes for the right reason.
I would have chosen an all you can eat buffet.....
The Supreme Court emailed a refusal to stop the execution, the Wise Latina dissenting.
“What would your last meal be on Death Row? I would go for lot more than fried chicken and mashed po-taters.”
He went for what psychologists call comfort food. It was something that he remembered from a good time in his life. He was recalling better times.
I’d ask for something grown on Mars...
In some states the last meal is what is on the menu that day. As it should be.
“She’s still on death row because she requested a McRob and a Shamrock shake for her last meal.”
“How does that work?”
“The two are never on the menu at the same time.”
-Raising Hope. I liked that show.
A splash of peppermint extract and green food coloring in a Mc Donald’s vanilla shake...mix and you are good to go on the shake.
Who’s fried chicken recipe? There’s good and bad fried chicken. I would’ve asked for chicken fried steak BUT it would have to be my Mothers recipe.
I'd go for the fried chicken too - as long as it was Popeye's
What would your last meal be on Death Row? I would go for lot more than fried chicken and mashed po-taters. ......................... It beats potato soup with little pieces of unkn. meat.
I could pick a meal selected a prepared by ‘Moosehell’ thereby cheating the death sentence!
It could be meat.. it could be cake... its MEATCAKE!!
George Carlin
They fried it with the electric chair.
Simple minds eh.
My grandmothers lasagna would be number 1 on my list. Of course she past 44 years ago so I guess they couldnt execute me
right?
My last meal would be oysters, raw, fried, steamed, grilled, and Rockefeller with a baked sweet potato and Caesar salad and for dessert banana pudding, coconut cake, and key lime pie.
Les Nessman (WKRP): “Honest to God, I had no idea that Prison Loaf could bounced that high, when dropped from a helicopter.”
“What would your last meal be on Death Row? “
My question is, who could eat? It has to be absolutely terrifying knowing whatever your last meal happens to be will never get a chance to digest.
Point being, 36 years is just too long of a wait, that unto itself is cruel and unusual punishment. I fully understand his last words.
After being found guilty, he should have been put to sleep in less than 5 years.
My favorite execution is from a Readers Digest article of decades ago where a Chinese man was given the death sentence by a judge. As the sentence was read, a guard sitting behind him blew the condemned man’s brains out. None of this last meal or last words garbage, just get the job done.
