In 1955-56 the third grades here in our city always went on a train trip to Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Not a long trip but so much fun. I remember my trip because the excitement was the fact that our engine was a steam engine. I loved riding on trains when young. Lots of my family in the hills of Kentucky worked on the railroad.

Beautiful area of the country too.

The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad is closest to me, hope to get there someday. Some friends just went but I haven’t seen her pictures yet.
