Congressional Reform Act of 2017

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman / woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security.

• All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately.
  
• All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people.
  
• It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 3/1/17.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.

MAN PROTESTS VERMONT TOWN GOVERNMENT WITH MASSIVE, $4,000 MIDDLE FINGER SCULPTURE

WESTFORD, Vt. (AP) — A man says he built a massive sculpture of a middle finger off a Vermont highway to show the local government how he really feels. Ted Pelkey tells WCAX-TV he spent $4,000 on the sculpture near Route 128 in Westford.

He says he’s been in a long-running dispute with town officials over whether he can develop his property and move his truck repair and recycling business there.

Pelkey says he hopes his sculpture encourages others to take a long look at who is running the town. Records from last year show officials had concerns over how the development would be used.

The Westford Select Board says they cannot remove the sculpture as it is considered public art.

Yesterday Melania gave Laura Bush a tour of the Christmas decorations and then Laura Bush spent time with White House staff that she knew from her time as a resident of The White House. What a beautiful picture of two lovely first lady's past and present together.
