My whole belief structure about Bush and the media is all messed up. I basically knew it was all a game. I basically knew that as soon as they retired they stop getting attacked, and after a few years can even be somewhat celebrated. Now I think it is more like W Bush knew it was his job to be a stalking horse. W Bush was a LIBERAL as was his daddy HW. So the only thing that press relationship was unfair to was us, because it was all a big game to them.
Was it GHWB who called out for REAGAN’s microphone to be turned off at some debate setting? A jolt to hear such a thing, and Reagan replied loudly and calling him out by name, “Mr. so & so, I PAID FOR THIS MICROPHONE!”.
I despised GHWBush for the “Voodoo Economics” charge, against Reagan, as well. Seems like milquetoast compared to the mortal combat Trump endures 24/7, today.
