I got news for some folks on this thread:
Saint Nicholas died a long time ago.
There are no elves.
Reindeer don’t fly.
Nobody lives at the North Pole.
Parents buy presents and put them under the tree.
Deal with it.
What a genius you are.
Ever wonder why no one wants to be around you?
There there, do you feel better now?
What are ya, some kind of fun killing jackass?
Nope. Santa is as real as the feeling and spirit of Christmas.
Ppppffftttt to you!
No, you go deal with it, Grinch.
Go comment on another thread. You don’t belong here.

Listen, Ebenezer North Mountain Scrooge, we are adults, we have and do ‘deal with it,’ every day, on all Holidays. We deal with it by playing Santa for our kids, by teaching them to be generous, even using myths and stories to do so.
These were kids, 5 - 6 - 7 years old. There was no reason to try to blight their Holiday, and certainly the teacher had no right or authority to do so. Kids will figure it out on their own, sooner or later. No need to disillusion them at that age.
Boy, ain’t you a real joy. There’s no Great Pumpkin either but for one month out of the year we can’t let little kids enjoy a little Christmas ambiance?
