“The idea of substituting Christ with a fat man in a red suit is demonic.”
I don’t know any Christian who “substitutes” Jesus with Santa. One is fun around Christmas time. The Other is the fiber of the family’s life every hour of every day. It’s the reason for living.
I recall that there was NOT some eureka moment where I suddenly stopped believing in Santa Claus. I did NOT have some flash of light when I suddenly knew my parents and others were deceivers. 'The kids' told of suspicions about Santa from a quite young age. I gradually came to realize that Santa was really my parents. Yet, I continued to play the charade, as well. Why? More presents would show up under the tree, that's why. It took me a lot longer to stop believing in teachers as paragons of truth.
The Bible clearly teaches and admonishes parents to teach their children the ways of God, and that isn't debatable.
My parents taught me the ways of God and the birth of Jesus. They also allowed us children the fun of Santa.
Well said! Also, I never felt I was "lied to" by my parents as some have stated. Santa was great fun and quite a production at our house....once a year. God was every day of the year!
You leap from my comment to some kind of weird fantasy world where small children are shown ... what? Pornography? Snuff films? And you accuse me of erecting a straw man?
From this I shall infer the following:
1. You dont know what a straw man is.
2. You think about pornography A LOT.
That was a big decision and you did what you thought was right.
It’s very commendable and you get to give so much attention to your nephews/nieces, like I do. :)
Cute :)
Cute :)
that’s really cute for kids.
Hearing all these great ideas on this thread.
could write a book of how to make your kids keep believing in Santa :)
I remember when I first started thinking the math involved in one guy that delivered toys to a population of billions over MAYBE 7 hours :)
Let her tell the truth about how much the illegals re costing this country & that because Mommy & Daddy are paying so much in taxes to support those illegals, the kids don’t have a chance at getting a college education.
Hell hath no fury like parents caught in a lie.
I respect your view.
I said i liked it for kids, and you decided to be honest.
Maybe i wouldn’t have cared as long as i got the gifts :)
By the time I was old enough to understand, it never occurred to me as deception though, but just what parents do.
besides, i would have tortured my parents to have the gifts early, but santa only does the 25th :)
to be fair, some use it was a way to make their kids behave all of December.
“i’m gonna call santa”
LOL
It’s GREAT being a kid and being able to believe such things.
Too bad our brains have to grow :)
family dog lol
I like the idea :)
Yeah - that’s why Santa is also “magical” - And his reindeer eat supercharged Christmas cookies.....
Well the supercharged Christmas cookies theory IS true. :)
I don’t have a lot to cling to...don’t take that away from me :)
Merry and Blessed Christmas to you and yours.
BTW, I liked your statement on being American vs. Italian...I tell people my ancestry includes Pole/French/German/English/Irish and Mohawk Indian (for the record - there's no 'Warrens' in my family history so the Indian is for real...) - my heritage is 100% American.
Calling your dead mother a stupid cow?!
Keep searching. You haven’t found Jesus yet.
You’re an all talk phony.
In fact, you remind me of the Jim Baker/Jimmy Swaggart types.
Then what was the point of your initial post?
It was short, seemingly meant to snipe that somehow telling the truth can ever be bad, and thus, allows much to be interpreted by the reader.
Also, your reply to my post in response to your initial post was also a snipe, meant to demean and degrade especially with the implication that I have much knowledge in a certain area.
