I knew a guy from a previous life who had inherited a considerable sum of money from a grandparent who went down on the Titanic. Nothing by Laurer standards but said to be in the low eight figures by the time he came of age to spend it.

He lived rather modestly and, when folks asked him how he managed to blow the family fortune, his laconic reply was "Half of it, I squandered on booze and women and the other half, I spent foolishly."
