So he wasn't shot down twice in the Pacific, didn't get transferred to training command and left the service in Sept 45?
They talked about his military career - said in one case he fired his pistol into the dashboard to mess up the controls and then bailed out leaving his two crewmates to die. But it did say he came in 1938 at age 14 so seems like a lot would have had to happen fast to get him in a plane in the Pacific by 1944, but I guess possible.
