I deal with life traumas by writing it out. So when I lost my Irish Wolfhound, I wrote out the short story in the middle of a food court, sobbing thru the whole experience. Still cry when I read it. Offered it to an editor, who accepted and asked what I called it. I said, “The Dead Dog Story.” She came up with her own title.
