One of the problems with our media is just how ignorant (and generally shallow in their thinking) they are.
A CNN "reporter" just tried to mock me because he didn't know Show me the man and I'll show you the crime
was the infamous line from Stalin's chief of secret police. Which is more astounding?
- That the so-called "reporter" didn't recognize such a well know and significant reference?
- That upon encountering an unfamiliar statement, quote or idea the "reporter" wasn't astute enough to do a quick search by smart phone
before commenting on the subject?
Most people today have rapid, often almost instantaneous, access to more information than found in the old Encyclopedia Britanica.
Yet it is surprising to see how many frequently ask the dumb question or make the most uninformed comment without making any attempt to inform themselves.

Excellent post Vlad.
It is pretty ironic with the availability of Technology, that most people today are more ignorant then they were in the 50s. And yet they woefully overestimate their own intelligence and abilities.
Along with that, we stick kids in “school” at 3 years old, and yet they are graduating with less ability to think for themselves and less knowledge then they did 50 or 75 years ago.
