FULL TITLE: No deal! Mexico DENIES agreement with Trump that would keep caravan asylum seekers out of America until their applications are approved, as tensions in border city of Tijuana reach boiling point
Mexican officials there was 'no agreement of any type' between its Government and the United States that will require asylum seekers to wait in the country while their claims move through US courts.
Olga Sanchez Cordero, the top domestic policy official for president-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador who takes office on December 1, ruled out that Mexico would be declared a 'safe third country' for asylum claimants.
This followed a Washington Post report of a deal with the Trump administration known as 'Remain in Mexico,' which quoted her calling it a 'short-term solution.'
The plan, according to the newspaper, foresees migrants staying in Mexico while their asylum claims in the United States are being processed, potentially ending a system President Donald Trump decries as 'catch and release' that has until now often allowed those seeking refuge to wait on safer US soil.
Their denial surfaced less than an hour after Trump tweeted that migrants wouldn't be allowed to cross into the United States while they were applying for asylum. He also threatened to close the border 'if necessary' following years of abuse.

This is most certainly a case of Mexico fouling their own nest.
And it is also most certainly Mexico’s problem to solve.
Because it does not matter that Mexico did not agree to the so-called deal. The invading horde will not be allowed into the US.
It would be nice but the “Post” is supposed to be a source of this reported ‘agreement’.
I’m hoping for it but not holding my breath.
Then Mexico can keep them. They’re the ones who let them slip in through the southern border.
Shut down the entire border.

It’s in Mexico’s court... President Trump is incentivizing Mexico to solve the problem or face a closed border. It will hurt them BIGTIME if they force the USA to close our side of border for their lack of enforcing their own border controls or tacit cooperation with the invader “caravans”.

Although I normally take anything published by The Washington Post with a grain of salt, I do put considerable stock in my President’s tweets.
I sincerely hope he verifies “agreements” such as this, preferably in writing. Furthermore, I trust that he is exercising all available means within his authority to do everything possible to protect our borders.

Or something like that. I think something like that will get some attention. And then, of course, he can always tweet about making EVerify a requirement and will be going thru Social Security databases to identify and locate all the illegals that are using the SSN so they can work, illegally in the US. Then deport them as soon as they are found.
