Gowdy understood that we have ONE chance at prosecuting Hillary for Benghazi and he wisely choose not to try it when a fully corrupt judiciary was in place and ready to let her walk. Because of his wisdom, Hillary can still be prosecuted once the Judiciary is filled with judges willing to provide fair and honest conditions.
If Gowdy refused to look into Ivanka’s emails, he’d be portrayed as protecting her. By responding to public calls to investigate, he proves he’s functioning in a non partisan manner and his investigation will document the fact that Ivanka is innocent.

Maybe my memory isn’t clear, but how could he have known at that time years ago, that there would be a President Trump at some point in the future?
Q may say Gowdy is a patriot. That leads me to think about what it means to be a patriot. Gowdy may love his country, as many do, but DS may still have something on him which, at times, causes him to take DS positions over patriot positions. I see him choosing DS positions too often, in an effort to appear “fair and balanced”. For now, I just don’t see him (or Sessions) as Q does.
