Thanks Mary, I enjoyed browsing thru those recipes. I’m bone tired from getting our Thankful Day/Weekend prepared and that made a good restful interlude :)
I certainly wish you a wonderful holiday and wish you were near enough to share ours. I think the only thing I miss about working for a large corporation is that there were always lots of new people to invite for Thanksgiving. There were always people who’d just transferred into town and were too far from home to return to family, single folks just out of college in a new city and assorted others who would otherwise be alone. I used to love cooking for all those people!
I can’t imagine anything I would have enjoyed more than joining you for Thanksgiving. It will be in spirit, if not in fact. We used to have houseparties for the holidays with everyone cooking. As we got older, people traveled less and it hasn’t been possible. One of those friends and I just spent a day cooking together again and that’s our early resolution - to cook together when there’s NOT a holiday so that there’s no stress. Just start it cooking and sit in front of the fire while it does its thing and we do ours. My niece and the local restaurant is doing the work for this holiday, but I’ll think of you madly running hither and yon with the biggest grin on your face. Love, Mary
