I got in deep poop over spinnin yarns to a 3 yr old that made her scream and cry getting her hair cut. She has beautiful red hair (like mine used to be). Had already had her hair cut once or twice. We liked our matching hair but I told her that it was red because our mamas cut it too early and it bled. And, I like long hair but they kept hers real short. She liked my long hair and I asked, "well doesn't it hurt when they cut it? I mean, it hurts if I cut my finger!" I elaborated further on the finer points of red hair, being that it bleeds so easy and is so special. Asked her if it didn't hurt when they cut it, with all that bleeding making it so bright red....
Next time daughter took her in for a haircut she screamed and hollered as only a 3 yr old can. "It's gonna hurt! It's gonna bleed!" And I got a phone call from daughter soon as they got home from the salon.
For several years they went through the screaming fits every time the little darlin was taken for a haircut. I've been the villain. That gal is 20 now and admits she was throwing those fits mostly because she didn't want the haircuts. She wanted to grow her hair long like Granny. The kids still say this was evil, but I just grin, little darlin just wanted to be like me :)
They have in this small town I live in DOG (Disciples of God) night. It's run by one church, but all kids are invited to come. Only 400 people actually in town. You get the picture. This one little squirt. About 3 years of age, often acts up at DOG Night. (mommy works for church). But oddly (not really) only does so when grandma is present.
So how do I know this? I have no kids. Well I work at the little grocery store. When little miss acts up at DOG night, Grandma brings her to the store to get what amounts to a treat for misbehaving in church. LOL! Only grandma would do this.
Mother of child not as amused by as I am. Little miss was a preemie and she is teeny tiny and uses it. The parents are in for a ride and a half.
