They rebelled against their parents, with a little help from peer pressure and the Soviet agents initiating and promoting the anti-war movement.
They also gave us, "women's lib" "black power" "queer rights" "God is dead" and a whole host of other "identity politics" programs, designed to divide and conquer our fairly cohesive American society...it worked.
They also took over "education", "the media" many churches, and the entertainment industry.
We may have bankrupted the Soviet Union by forcing them to overspend on their military budget (Star Wars) but they definitely won the Cold War.
