That's correct. Freerepublic.com does not store images locally, rather, the links to the original image source is stored in the post's source code. This is also a point to consider for FReepers who wish to remain strictly anonymous. A tech-savvy person can very easily view either the page's html source code, or right-click on the image (for most browsers) and trace the image link back to its source. If this location happens to be a personal website or some other clue that reveals their affiliation, they risk exposure.
