Extremely high wind with fire. I saw places up close in Napa, house burned to ash and in-law place not 5 feet away the paint didn’t bubble on. Grape vines literally blow torched off at the ground level with the plants hanging unburnt from the wires, mid construction wood frame unburned while stone house adjacent burned...

Indeed. What are your conjectures about that/

Insane winds with positive feedback loop from the fire. If any of the structures had been able to burn at a normal rate/vertical the adjacent structures and items would have gone up easily from radiated heat. As it is, this and fires last year in Napa and Santa Rosa looked in videos like they’re behaving as a fast moving fluid.
