Actually, no. The full story only came out a few years ago.
He was wounded in a crash with an oncoming army truck. He died several days later.
The driver of the truck had been driving drunk, and when Patton found out about it he refused to have the man charged. He said the man had made a mistake and shouldn’t suffer the rest of his life for it.
The story was never told until after the driver of the truck died. His son told the story.

Massive Police Response Due To Incident at Fort Lauderdale International Airport
Fort Lauderdale, FL — Police in Florida were responding to the Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport Sunday night.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the bomb squad was on scene of a suspicious package outside Terminal 4.
“Around 6:30 tonight, Regional Communications received a report of a suspicious package outside Terminal 4 at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport,” the sheriff’s office said. “Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and its bomb squad are on-scene and investigating.”
All roadways into the airport were immediately shut down.

Did anyone hear what the purpose was for all the Freedom of Information requests of Secretary of State offices late summer/September? Our local precinct had to gather all sorts of info to send off by a certain date. It was costing spot of time and money.
