it is still preferable to have *not* lost the House.

However I’m still shaking my head that the members that came up short here are/were mostly Never Trump types that themselves came up short, even people I’ve historically liked ala Barbara Comstock or Mia Love.

The historical number of resignations ahead of the election was breathtaking. The remainder lost here & now is really a desired end-state without initiation from within.

The problem + dilemma is that these are now blue seats including my own district, formerly Darrell Issa’s. From a strategic perspective it “helps” Trump to have something to run against being the obstructionist DEMs over the next couple years.

It’s like the historical dilemma of liberal REPs in the Senate - you need them to overcome fillibusters etc. but otherwise they’re a persistent pain. The joy expressed by Karl Rove and Dana Perino over the loss of the House is “spiting their face” by this purge of the last remaining Never Trump members of the Congressional delegations.

So that which remains is, as noted by “Q” last night, stronger & more pure than before - but if the question is control over no control, it’s preferable to have control (NO QUESTION)

I do share POTUS pointing to Paul RINO and others in House leadership for their circumstances. I noted last night, there was ZIP/ZILCH/NADA financial support given to my district by NRCC.

Nonetheless ... this landscape is going to change quickly & dramatically once DECLAS and other events proceed toward + following 11/11.
